Sharing September Scenes

The first day of fall officially began on September 23.  It is a nice time of the year, and we always hope the nice weather will remain for awhile longer before we feel the need for jackets when we go outside.

On Friday, September 27, we went with Hal and Christy
for a ride in Hobble Creek Canyon
and returned via Diamond Fork Canyon.
The fall colors were nice, the temperature was just right,
and the company was enjoyable as always.

Looking back at our September

Doug and Shannon's family came
for a last time in the pool this season.
The children each brought a friend; and Rebecca joined them.

More fun in the sports court.
The cousins joined by Shannon, Doug, and Beth.
Ethan also got in the action.

Empty Nesters
Good food and visiting in our backyard.
Lee Ellertson's son was the chef for the barbecued brisket
and peach cobbler
to go with the salads, corn on the cob, and homemade bread
brought by others.

Lee Ellertson, Sandra Cook, Jim and Trudy Sumsion,

Harvesting from our fruit trees

Some of the peaches picked from one of our three peach trees.

We ate all we wanted and Sam enjoyed
giving away peaches around the neighborhood,
but I did freeze some.

This was our first crop of nectarines.

We went to Farmer's Market one Saturday morning
and enjoyed looking at the produce,
but we didn't need to buy anything.

Beth and Todd had extra tickets for the
BYU - USC game.
We sat in the sun during the first half
and welcomed the shade for the last half.
It was an exciting game with the scoring
going back and forth;
but fortunately for BYU fans,
the final score in overtime was 30-27 with a win for the Cougars.
