November Thanksgiving

We have celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years since my last posting.  These are all special times of the year, so today I will enjoy looking back at the fun times shared with family and friends in November.

November 14
We have enjoyed going with Hal and Christy Smith
to plays at the Hale Theater.

"Thoroughly Modern Millie"
"Millie Dillmount has a one-way ticket from Kansas to 1922 New York City
where she wants to marry for money and live the modern life,
but her grand plan quickly goes awry."

November 15
Tauna came with her family to Utah for her
brother Neal's funeral.
He died October 15, 2019 (age 44).
Tauna remained in Utah for a couple of weeks
following the funeral and spent time with her dad and siblings.
Sam and I went to visit Tauna at her dad's home in Provo
and invited Tara Poulsen to go with us.
Tara and Tauna became friends in Texas.

Tara Poulsen and Tauna
had not seen one another since both lived in Texas.

Sam appreciated Ethan checking the Christmas lights on the roof.

November 21
Adult Religion Class - Teacher, Carl Bowcut
(through BYU)
Beth Whitaker told me about these classes and said
she and her husband really enjoyed them.
This was the last class for this term; but we will be
attending the classes for the term starting January 2.

This is one of several slides shown during the discussion.

Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork

An annual celebration during the month of July in Spanish Fork is Fiesta Days, which includes the pioneer day celebration on the 24th.  On Friday, the 21st, we walked around the craft fair with Beth, Megan, Ethan, Joshua, and Rebecca; and for lunch Sam and I enjoyed the tri tip beef sandwiches from the Catmull's food booth.  The next morning, we went to the Car Show.  On the 24th in the morning, we went to the parade and then to the Quilt Show at Pioneer Park; and that evening we went to the rodeo with Hal and Christy Smith.

Pioneer Park

We had never been inside the buildings at Pioneer Park before
and enjoyed our visit here on the 24th after watching the parade.

The Quilt Display at Pioneer Park

This was my favorite quilt, not only because of the quality workmanship,
but also because of the theme.
It would be great to have one similar as a keepsake for our Ireland Family Reunion.

The Little Mermaid

I went with Christy Smith to see Spanish Fork Community Theater's musical,
The Little Mermaid
performed at Spanish Fork High School.
It was well done and fun to see.

Having my picture taken with Ursula and
and Flotsam and Jetsam
from the cast of The Little Mermaid.

Enjoying Corn from Our Garden

Sam picking corn for us and more to take around to the neighborhood.
Sometimes we drive to deliver sacks of corn,
and sometimes Sam takes a bag or two with us on our walk.

The corn planted in the middle of April is almost all picked,
but the next rows planted are ready now,
with later plantings not yet mature.
