June 23rd and 24th was a special weekend in Denver where we attended Seth and Jenn's wedding on Saturday followed by a "missionary farewell" open house that evening for Jenna at Scott and Kristine's home; and on Sunday we went to church to hear Jenna speak before returning home. (See photos in previous blog entry.)
The following Thursday, we left for South Dakota for a short visit at the farm and to be there for the open house on July 1st honoring Seth and Jenn. It made the twelve-hour trip more enjoyable by riding with Beth and children.
Here are photos from the barbecue celebration at the farm.

Patti Busch baked and decorated
the wedding cake.
The traditional cutting of the cake
and sharing the first bites.
There were also both chocolate and white cupcakes.
Guests were greeted by a photo display
and a video featuring Seth and Jenn.
Serving tables were set up on the porch.
Pulled pork for buns, German potato salad,
homemade cream-style corn,
and baked beans.
The beverage table
with the choice of blueberry/pineapple punch,
a red fruit punch, and ice water.
Shannon and Rachel were the cotton-candy makers.
Guests sat at tables on the lawn covered with
blue-and-white-checked tablecloths.
There was lots of good food and enjoyable visiting.
Some of Seth's cousins and his Aunt Kristine.
(Kristine, Ethan, Shannon, Amanda, Megan, and Joshua)
Hay bales covered with red-and-white-gingham tablecloths
were provided for optional seating.
The weather was pleasant
and trees provided nice shade.
Lawn games available.
Jenn and Seth
have their home in Denver
where Jenn has had a job as a waitress near the airport
since her graduation
from South Dakota State University,
and Seth has a job and is working toward a Master's degree.
We all wish Seth and Jenn love and happiness
and a wonderful future.

We also enjoyed seeing members of Tauna's family at the farm
who had come to celebrate with
Seth and Jenn on Sunday and then enjoy their Hatch Family Reunion
at the farm officially beginning the next day.
