Summer Is Here

Summer days mean more time spent in the yard both for enjoyment and for keeping it looking nice.   We like to share our pool and yard with family and friends.

Relief Society "Garden Party"

Ready for a Relief Society "Garden Party"
in our backyard.

We ate in the shade, and the temperature was very pleasant.

It was an enjoyable time visiting,
and the salads and desserts were yummy.
After we ate, some took advantage of the
volleyball net set up on the lawn,
others played some of the different lawn games,
and some just enjoyed visiting together.

Love to Have Family Come for a Visit

It was a treat to have my nephew Dave and Kayleen's family
come for a visit and go swimming,
while Sam and I enjoyed visiting with my brother.

We are looking forward to our Ireland Family Reunion in South Dakota.
The next blog entry will be sharing some of those memories!
We love our family and appreciate the preparations being made by
Brent and Tauna & Marla and Curtis
and those who have been able to make arrangements to travel there.
Of course, we will miss those who have work and school conflicts;
but we are grateful for all who are coming.  Travel safely!

More March Memories and Also April

There are still more memories to share from recent weeks that have been waiting to be posted here:  (1) Jeff's visit and birthdays celebrated with family.  (2)  Social at our home with the high priests and wives from our ward.  (3) Visit from the Masons and Shepards, our friends from our Russian mission.  (4) Trevor and Megan's get-together with friends in our home.  (4) Visit from two of my Peterson cousins, Colleen Worthen and Annette Grant.

Jeff came from Arkansas on March 10th to go snow boarding with Doug and visit family in Utah.  The days he came were not the best ones for the snow, but they still seemed to enjoy it.  We had a family get-together in our home on March 12th, which included a little birthday celebration for those with January, February, and March birthdays.

 Doug and Jeff
with a little sunburn from being on the slopes.

We took advantage of being together to
recognize those with birthdays
and receive a special treat.

Jessica - January]

  Those who had February birthdays:
Paul, Sarah, Trent, Koryn, and Kyle.
[Anna - January 1st

Marisa got her birthday gift bag,
but she left before the February birthday photo was taken.
(Gramma Narene and Marisa)

Anna (in the photo)
and Jared (present but not in the photo)
also got a chocolate cinnamon bear gift bag
for having January birthdays.

Paul looks pretty satisfied without his shirt.

Seated at the table:  Trent, Jessica, Sarah,
Maggie, Taylor, Derek, Anna, and Rebecca.
Doug shown behind getting a lemonade refill.

We enjoy having the grandkids in our home.
(Kyle, Trevor, Amy and Judd)

We didn't get a group photo of all those attending,
but we were happy most living in Utah were able to come.
(Haley, Megan, and Koryn)

Jared, Isaac, Todd, Joshua, and Amanda

Megan, Jacob, and Mason

Had to include this cute picture of Corban.
We love all of our grandchildren
and always enjoy having them here.

We appreciate Rochelle and kids sharing Jeff
with us for this visit and look forward to seeing their family
when they come this summer.
I appreciate Beth and the other moms bringing
delicious food for our family dinner.

We had our family dinner downstairs,
since we had left tables there from
the high priest social we had the night before (March 11th).

in the "tortilla sword fight" at the high priests social.
Mark Day, the group leader, was in charge of the activities.

Another activity provided a challenge
as the height to jump over kept getting higher by
stacking on another can of beans.

It is nice that Sam, Amanda, and Megan updated
our family reunion pictures
so we can enjoy those memories each time we pass the display.

Loved the visit from Clark and Renee Mason
and Chris and Greg Shepard.
We were pleased the Shepards were able to spend several
days with us, and the Masons stayed overnight with us
after the Senior Missionaries Moscow Reunion on March 31st.
The following afternoon after having lunch with us,
the Masons left for their home in Idaho.
The Shepards returned to Salt Lake City with the Masons
where they spent a few days visiting
before going to California and then returning home to Dallas.
(More photos from their visit were in the previous blog entry.)

We had nice visits from two of my Peterson cousins (on my mother's side):

Colleen with her husband, James Worthen.
They live in West Valley and came for a visit
on April 12th and 13th.

On Wednesday, April 13th, Colleen and Sam and I went
to Annette Grant's assisted-living apartment
here in Spanish Fork.  After visiting there for a short time,
Annette came back with us to our home where
we had lunch and more visiting.
Colleen is the daughter of my Uncle Elwyn Peterson,
and Annette is the daughter of my Uncle Alton Peterson.
