On October 3, we attended in Arizona the combined reunions for the St. Johns High School graduating classes of 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969.
Coming from BYU in 1960, we had been hired as teachers by Superintendent Keith Udall. Sam taught math and physics and coached football, wrestling, and baseball. I was the business teacher and taught typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office practice (and general math one year). I had only taught the classes of 1965 and 1966 as underclassmen, as I had "retired" from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom in 1963; but these were students Sam had taught and coached. The class of 1969 was the last year Sam taught before moving to Ann Arbor where Sam attended the University of Michigan.
Being the "new kids on the block" when we were hired, there are not many of the teachers from those years still alive; and we were the only teachers who came to the reunion. We shared the head table with Ted and Julie Raban, as Ted had been a custodian and bus driver during part of those years. The Rabans have been special friends throughout the years, and we enjoyed visiting with them.
While we were in St. Johns, we also visited as many friends as possible; and we appreciated the warm hospitality of Ruth Patterson where we stayed. We have many happy memories of living in St. Johns and always enjoy returning for visits.

It has a span of 92 feet and a height of 45 feet.
