Special Spring Occasions with Grandchildren

Here are some photos taken of grandchildren this spring that were taken on their special occasions.

Jenna looking beautiful on this special day.

We were pleased to be with Jenna and Josh on April 16, 2022, when they were sealed for eternity in the Provo City Temple.

Afterward, we attended the reception celebrating Jenna's graduation from BYU. She has been hired to teach in Springville next year.

Megan and Amanda graduated from UVU last December.

Megan will be teaching in Utah next year. Alex finished his Masters in December, and he and Amanda are moving at the end of May to Texas where Alex will begin a new job.

A visit from Seth and Carson on St. Patrick's Day was a recent highlight we enjoyed and appreciate.

We love our grandchildren and feel blessed for all occasions when we are together.

South Africa Safari - Part 5 - Victoria Falls

✩Victoria Falls - April 8 & 9

One of the world's largest waterfalls.
Located on border between Zambia and Zimbabwe.

We viewed Victoria Falls from our 30-minute helicopter ride.

Also walked the various paths near the falls, getting soaked from time to time from the heavy mist and spray.

Photos taken from our helicopter ride:

"Largest curtain of falling water in the world," 5604 ft. wide.

View of the Avanti Victoria Falls Hotel grounds.

Seeing the falls up close via the various walking paths:

Zebras didn't seem to mind us being nearby.
I took Sam's photo by one grazing on the grass near the pool.

My photo near some zebras taken shortly after I got kicked
by one who for some reason didn't like where I was standing nearby where he was grazing.  I was facing the same direction the zebra was before he turned around and kicked me with both feet a couple of times, knocking me down and causing bruising on both of my legs.

April 9
Enjoying the morning of our last day before leaving for the airport for our return flight from Johannesburg via Atlanta to Salt Lake City.

South Africa Safari - Part 4

 Victoria Falls Extension -  Part 1 - April 7

We added this extension to our Africa trip.  It included a day tour in the Chobe National Park located in Botswana.

Chobe National Park

The park has one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa and is noted for having a population of lions.

These lions were right by the road near our jeep.

Cape Buffalo

Enjoyed our boat excursion on the Chobe River.

We stopped cruising during a brief rain storm,
and plastic coverings were lowered over the open lookout windows.

Returning to our lodge at Victoria Falls in Zambia.

The sliding glass doors to our room are third ones to the right.

The next blog post will have photos of Victoria Falls.
