Our Prairie Fire Crabapple trees in bloom.
The Emperor Japanese Maple tree getting some growth.
Blue Lobelia almost taking over the white Lobularia.
As progress was being made on Slant Road for asphalt in front of our place, we began going ahead with some improvements we had been waiting to do. The following photos document some of these stages:
This photo shows preparations underway for putting curb and sidewalk
on the opposite side of the road from us.

Sam helped to put in concrete at the edge of our lawn
where they will be adding some brick work.

Concrete was poured where we plan to build
brick planter boxes for a salsa garden.
Sam transferred the rocks that had been on the
parking area in front of our place
after they began getting the road ready for asphalt.
The new location for the rocks improves the
parking area on our lot in front of the playground area.
We have enjoyed the pretty sunsets looking from
our front yard, but the farm ground there is
being transformed as ground work is ongoing
prior to this becoming lots for homes to be built.

Megan Smith (Trevor's wife) graduated from UVU
and had a family and friend party in her honor
held at our place on Saturday, April 30th.
Some of those attending were still here for this photo.

Two special days were spent attending Women's Conference
on the BYU campus with Sandra Cook
on April 28th and 29th.
Elder Dale G. Renlund (of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles) and his wife were the concluding speakers on Friday. Elder Renlund said in his remarks, “Conversion to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and His Atonement is the key to developing charity,
the pure love of Christ. The development of charity then leads to the development of other Christlike attributes."

Matt and Brittney (our granddaughter) and their little boys, Monty and Joe, were here from San Antonio for a short visit in between attending the funeral for Matt's grandma on Saturday (April 30th) and leaving after sacrament meeting on Sunday to attend the funeral on Monday for Matt's aunt near Saint George.

Joe was curious to see the quail that flew into our garage.
I took this photo of Monty after Grampa Sam got the quail
out of the garage and closed the doors.

Maggie's fiance, Taylor Kuta, stayed with us for the few days following the end of the term at BYU until his apartment was ready to move in on May 1st. The apartment will become his and Maggie's first home after they are married June 24th.
Looking ahead, Sam and I will be attending another wedding for a grandchild when Trent marries Jessica in Ireland at the end of May.

As a proud grandma, I am pleased to share the following photos of grandchildren enjoying memorable events in their young lives.
Jared opening the letter with his mission call.
We appreciated being there for this occasion
and learn that he will be serving as a missionary
in the Arkansas Bentonville Mission.
Of course, Jeff and Rochelle think this is pretty cool.

After opening up his mission call letter, Jared continued
putting the finishing touches on the drift trike he created
to enter into the racing competition the next morning
in the Fast Wheels Trikefest at the Spanish Fork fairgrounds.
His race time was very competitive, barely missing the top 10
among the 70-plus entrants; and Jared enjoyed making it.

Can these cute granddaughters be old enough
now to attend their first high school prom?
(Amanda, Shannon, Rachel, Maren, and Amanda)

Rachel looking very pretty with her date at the
Bennett County High School prom.
Megan at the Spanish Fork High School prom.
I have a special reason to appreciate how
pretty she looks in her red dress.
Amanda, also very pretty, had fun at the prom with her date.
She and Megan both had fancy hairdos for the occasion
thanks to Amanda's styling expertise.
